PB was rescued over a decade ago from a very dire situation. His mom slowly and patiently nursed him back to health and they’ve since enjoyed many happy years together. When PB’s mom recently got the news that he had lung cancer, she knew it was very important to have a portrait session focused just on him and their love for him. Despite his illness, PB still had a smile, perky ears and that special light in his eyes that just melts your heart. In fact, he was so chipper and friendly throughout the session, I would have never guessed he was sick! Unbelievably, PB passed just a week after our time together. My heart goes out to PB’s mom and I hope these images will help her treasure his memory forever.

Brooklyn and Boudreaux love to hang out at the Arbor Hills Nature Preserve so that’s exactly where we went for their photography session.  Luckily, we were able to catch the tail end of the gorgeous fall colors! As you can see in the images below, Brooklyn is the more adventurous of the pair. She loves running free in the tall grass and generally exploring her surroundings. Boudreaux is much more of a momma’s boy. Notice how he stays right by her side. Even in his pictures alone, he ALWAYS has his eyes on his mom. I especially love the very last image in this post…if those eyes, don’t melt your heart, I don’t know what will!

This trio of dogs is led by Federal, a 13 year old Great Dane. His parents realize he is getting up in years so we had a special focus on him during the session. Even though he is definitely a senior guy, he still had a great time playing ball with his dad. Next up is Maya, a sweet black mutt who WANTS THE TREATS! I was trying to get her to lay down on the bench for a particular shot but as soon as she realized I had treats, she jumped off ready to fill her tummy! And finally we have the smallest dog and the puppy of the family, Tristan. She might look serious but she is a hard core cuddler and likes to give Federal and Maya a run for their money during fetch! Of course, no session would be complete without a final image of all the dogs together. Thanks for a fantastic session, guys!
